This new art installation, titled “Little Cloud World,” has been created by LA-based artists Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III and is set to delight visitors through October.
Art Installation Details
The installation consists of 40 large, inflatable cloud sculptures, each measuring four feet in width. These clouds are spread across the Covent Garden area, creating a whimsical canopy that invites passersby to pause and experience a moment of tranquility. The artists describe the clouds as a “portal into a happy place,” designed to evoke a sense of peace and cheer.
Borkson and Sandoval III aim to use their art to inspire visitors from around the world to explore, spread kindness, and foster compassion for people and the planet. Their creation brings a burst of optimism to the heart of London, offering a refreshing contrast to the city’s typical hustle and bustle.
Charitable Aspect
In addition to their aesthetic appeal, the inflatable clouds support a significant cause. Covent Garden has partnered with the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), a charity that supports individuals dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts. As part of this collaboration, various donation stations have been set up throughout the square, allowing visitors to contribute to CALM’s mission. The inflatable clouds have been on display since August 1 and are accessible to the public for free.
